A little background

Co-Founder Matthew Bell lived in Tanzania and travelled extensively for 6 years pre-2010. He often wondered why it was difficult as an independent traveler to book flights, find necessary information, manage the logistics, and make bookings on-line, often having to depend on travel agents.

In 2006, Matt founded Receptionbook.com, a hotel reservation and property management system (PMS). In 2013 he co-founded Flyezee.com, the region’s first and only flight ticket aggregation platform.

Marc Dhalluin was a frequent visitor to Tanzania with his family, visiting the National Parks, Islands and beaches. He too was frustrated with having to depend on agents to make bookings, not easily being able to find the right flights, hotels and how to connect the 2. After all, in most other destinations, including remote ones such as Patagonia, the Magellan Straits region it was simple to research and book one’s own itinerary.

A chance meeting in London in 2014, and they realised that together they had something to offer the region, help develop its local tourism businesses by making the booking of travel products and services much easier.

And so, they conceived what is today EasyOTA, a technology platform designed for developing markets in the e-commerce context: a platform for businesses to increase their direct sales, with more efficiency than through only paid distribution networks.

They and their team share the dream of enabling at zero cost, 100 emerging local SMEs, bringing them into the world of internet marketing and driving demand for their products and services.

Armed with an honours award in his Batchelor of Tourism degree, Mzee’s passion for the travel industry has seen him work in sales, ticketing and customer care. Mzee is currently a member of the Customer Services team. A Zanzibari by birth, Mzee is a keen footballer and beach goer. His objective: to never leave a customer dissatisfied.
